Carrie Weis is the Museum and Gallery Director at Ferris State University, overseeing the Art Gallery, University Collections, and the Card/Riley Conservation and Wildlife Education Center. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Kendall College of Art & Design and a B.I.S. degree with a major in Studio Fine Art and a minor in Art History from Ferris State University. Artistically, Weis has been painting for over 30 years and continues an active studio practice. She participates in solo and group exhibitions and art residencies, most recently at the Golden Apple Artist Residency in Harrington, Maine, during the summer of 2019. Weis’ current work focuses on blending the two environments where she finds herself most deeply inspired: art and nature. Her current series titled Nature Divine expresses the spiritual in nature, as she immerses herself in journeys to wild and natural places throughout the United States.
