Sunrise, Beside the Atlantic Ocean
The heaving swell sensed
again. It covers half my
line-of-sight.
A rising
crowns like a child
from a nursery
of light
a self-sufficient bright cave—
its porches, its mansions
all defy.
White caps flash wide
close-in and away
corralled, confined
a singular sea with many names
shifts, returns;
a sculptor sighs.
The sky gradates to edges.
Oceans have been filled again,
breathing through
my eyes.
